Here at the frontier, the leaves fall like rain. Although my neighbors are all barbarians, and you, you are a thousand miles away, there are still two cups at my table.

Ten thousand flowers in spring, the moon in autumn, a cool breeze in summer, snow in winter. If your mind isn't clouded by unnecessary things, this is the best season of your life.

Have you read that book yet?

Not a book I would usually be drawn to, I was snagged by the idea of emotional resilience. This is a very interesting angle from which to approach situations -- ha-ha, when physical resilience is just. not. enough. And citing "wisdom" as a necessary catalyst is another one.

A good read. Thanks!

I've downloaded and read the sample, then bought and downloaded the whole thing, but haven't read it yet.

I still think the fundamental idea is to cultivate a calm, clear mind. All else follows from there.

Don't meddle with a veteran, however disabled he seems to be. He might just come back with that (forgotten) killer instinct a couple of months later.I bet anything that reads "inspirational" won't happen to common folks, that's probably why there are still so many bullies hanging around town...:):)

Perhaps it's the fortitude to make this transformation that makes him uncommon.

Personally, I think we all have that within us, but it takes a lot of ... courage perhaps?
