Here at the frontier, the leaves fall like rain. Although my neighbors are all barbarians, and you, you are a thousand miles away, there are still two cups at my table.

Ten thousand flowers in spring, the moon in autumn, a cool breeze in summer, snow in winter. If your mind isn't clouded by unnecessary things, this is the best season of your life.

Who Needs Fiction: F(l)light Club

A friend sent this article. An excerpt is posted below. The full article may be read here. What I want to know is what about those kung fu trained flight attendants?!

Fight on Chinese flight caught on camera

BEIJING – Passengers on flights around China recently have not always been flying the friendly skies.

Late last month, on Aug. 29, Fang Daguo, a senior Guangzhou government official from the southern province of Guangdong made news in China when he had a drunken altercation with a flight attendant on a plane going between Guangzhou and Hefei.

The attack only came to light after the flight attendant posted photos of her bruises and rips in her uniform on China’s Twitter-like service, Weibo.

Just a few days later, on Sept. 2, a Swiss Air flight to Beijing was forced to return to Zurich after two Chinese men got into a scuffle. According to one account, a 57-year-old male passenger became infuriated when the 29-year-old man in the seat ahead of him reclined his chair and refused to put his seat upright for the meal. Infuriated and reportedly extremely intoxicated, the elder passenger slapped the younger man in the back of the head, sparking a brawl to ensue.
Security eventually stepped in and the older passenger was restrained with cable ties at the front of the plane, where he was said to have yelled for an hour.

The captain eventually turned the plane around and returned to Zurich.

This is what happens when your country doesn't have a "no fly list"! lol

Although, I can certainly appreciate the old guy's POV. NO seats lower than First Class should recline.

Would it be possible to design a customer experience on purpose worse than what is foisted on us for air travel?

I would rather drive anywhere rather than fly if time and geography weren't considerations.

I don't mind the act of flying itself, it's just everything else that goes along with it.

I know exactly what you mean. We could talk for hours about the problems with the air travel experience but what it ultimately comes down to is where the importance is placed: efficiency, instead of pleasure or comfort.

Probably the old guy is/was/is related to/was related to a high/middle/low ranking government official, and being drunk, he forgot that he was in a Swiss flight instead of a local China flight - poor guy, otherwise he would have given additional slaps to flight attendants (female and/or male) who dared trying to stop him, and could still get away with it all....:):)

PS: A popular joke circulating around mainland China's Weibo (China version of twitter) community: "My father is so-and-so!!!!" with his/her adolescent nose pointing up, after beaten up someone, talking about Chinese "fighting clubs"... LOL
