Here at the frontier, the leaves fall like rain. Although my neighbors are all barbarians, and you, you are a thousand miles away, there are still two cups at my table.

Ten thousand flowers in spring, the moon in autumn, a cool breeze in summer, snow in winter. If your mind isn't clouded by unnecessary things, this is the best season of your life.

The Terra Cotta Warriors

In the current National Geographic (June) Magazine, there is an article on the Terra Cotta Warriors. The article is about how they would have been painted and actually looked. You can read the article online here, and see a short video.

Some warriors are buried with swords or bows, so they may hunt and do battle in the after life.

Some are buried with sacred text, so to honor the wisdom of their ancestors.

And some get buried with GIANT ARMIES OF STONE, to wage epic warfare while they play air hockey with Friedrich Nietzsche and Ben Franklin.

Wish I had a terracotta army....

We live in a modern age. Our warriors will be made of non biodegradable plastic.

I got a chance to see en exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum on the terracotta warriors. Amazing detail and the history associated with it is of course astounding.

I would like to add to what The Strongest Karate said: "Some warriors are buried with warriors surrounding them in order to keep the tough bastards in the tomb!"
