Judo: Koshi no Kata

In Judo practice, ten kata are recognized by the Kodokan today. Among them is Koshi no Kata, which comes from an ancestor art of Judo, Kito Ryu Jujutsu.

Koshi no Kata was originally meant to be practiced in armor. The founder of Judo, Jigoro Kano, chose to preserve it as it embodied the principles of Judo.
