A very exciting and inspiring exhibition. I know little about aikido, even as an armchair admirer. But it seems to fill the stylistic void between judo and karate; and from there climbs straight to the stars in terms of effectiveness and depth.
Even for a demo like this, I can guess that Master needs have a very calm, forged-steel spirit to control things the way he does.
I love the way I've seen top aikidists decide an encounter with breathtaking swiftness. It's a bit like having the Samurai of old, still with us. But not needing sword to cut down the opponent. And better yet, no one loses their head! Thanks for posting this clip.
