Impermenence

I found the following at a blog entitled My Zen Life. If you click on the title of this post, you'll be directed there.

the day is now ended.
our lives are shorter.
now we look carefully.
what have we done?

noble sangha,
with all of our heart,
let us be diligent,
engaging in the practice.
let us live deeply,
free from our afflictions,
aware of impermanence
so that life does not
drift away without meaning.

    Take no good fortune for granted.
    Breathe it in and savor its gift.

    Stay in the moment as much as possible,
    yet remember where you've been.

    Appreciate each past suffering as yet another opportunity to learn the lessons.

    Know you don't know anything -- even as I say this as a way to follow! -- and don't be reluctant to admit it.

    and finally....

    Get yourself to a place where it's ok to let go of the cliff's edge, with or without eating the strawberry first.

  2. You can't get yourself anywhere. You are at the only place you can be... and you won't be there forever.

  3. I was "there" last night, and it isn't where I am today, you're right. My mistake is in directing others to a place that existed only in a moment...
