I think that is a reasonable distance that a normal person can put in the time required to run those miles and be prepared, yet still have a normal life.

The time required to log the miles needed for your full marathons and ultra marathons is mind boggling. That takes a huge amount of commitment. However, I am definitely not giving up hot showers and coffee. There's got to be something to look forward to after a long winter run.
Happy New Year!
JeffRunBikeThrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08678354934184597543noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13961468.post-79643321826405883432017-01-01T13:32:11.366-05:002017-01-01T13:32:11.366-05:00Happy New Year, Walt!

This day rather lends itself to such reflections.

From the post: "The early Stoics had to go back to foundational principles to discover what truly mattered in life."

Awhile back, you posted a list of books you recommended and, if I recall correctly, your post/comments included a book by Napoleon Hill. Seeing that jogged my memories, for I had read some of Hill's books many decades ago when I hit the Big City clutching nothing but my High School diploma. And later in life, I actively applied his suggestions when I started and built what turned out to be a lucrative business. Anywayz, after seeing your post, I purchased a book by him that was written in the 30's but only published in recent years, called Outwitting the Devil -- it is vintage Hill content-wise, but in a VERY different format. Very thought-provoking in terms of "what do you want," along the lines of your post today.walthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01388218390016612051noreply@blogger.com
